Non-profit assisting those in need of clothing & other basic life needs, donated by community.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit. We take in donations of clothing, and misc household items, including furniture, small appliances, bedding. We store it for distribution to those in need in the Mchenry County area. We hold a monthly give-away of clothing, etc, to our recipient base. We assist on a long term basis and have had recipients with us since we opened in 2005. If you know someone in need, have them contact us. Stop in to see what we do, evaluate us, check us out on non-profit rating websites. Consider us for your donations of time or material. Monetary donations are accepted if we meet your criteria. We do give out donation receipts. We also gladly accept clients from other agencies, including Pioneer Center and PADS.

What is your primary product or service?
We accept donations from the community, store them, and give the out at our monthly give-aways to our recipient base.
We are one of the supporting agencies of the St. Paul Diaper Bank, and will accept diaper donations on their behalf
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We have always been drawn to the benevolent arm of churches we have attended, so felt like starting our own non-profit that does operates in this realm on a full time basis. We gladly offer our service to any church who would like to use us as a function of their benevolent arm.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We give away basic life need items, with no vouchers needed, nor limits set. We help an individual or family as long as they feel they are in need. We have very little red tape in our registration process.
We also cooperate with most local service agencies and churches, in assisting their clientele or members, if we can.
We charge no fees to register or to use our services.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location, but will expand when financially able. Anyone with real estate holdings that are willing to donate them for a right off, please contact us. We can use additional storage space, or a retail space. You will be blessed when you see what we can do for the community.
We will expand as the Lord provides. We will be assisting more families in the future.

Anyone out there willing to jump in with both feet in assisting our organization financially will see how far we can stretch a dollar, and how many people we can assist per dollar donated. Our cost per recipient assisted is very, very low. We understand the fiduciary responsibility we have to use your donations properly.

Donations: open every Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 4.
Give-away days: 1st Saturday of every month from 9 to 2.

Word: Jehovahjirah, "the Lord provides": We understand that the Lord provides to us what we need to do what we do. We also view what we do as the Lord providing for those we assist, whether they grow to understand that or not. As our recipients spend more time visiting Blessing Barn, we trust they will gain this perspective.
